Very nice, Elaine. Love the variegated ginger. Slow day on the Extension phones. I'm dying here.

Here are a couple more to help you pass the time, Jim. Maybe I'll call in with some bogus questions for you, too . . let me think? "Can I put ice cubes on my orchids instead of watering them?" Or, this was a favorite some guy called me with a few years ago "I have this webbing on the trunk of my citrus tree, and it's full of little bugs (they were psocids). Will it kill the tree if I burn them off with my blowtorch?" Last week I had a guy who had nuked his whole back yard with two different kinds of chemical insecticides because he had leaf miner damage on his citrus leaves. THEN he called us . . .

The whole plant of that spiral ginger - it's 4 times the size it was in April, I swear. I've potted it up twice and it's going to need it again soon!

My favorite flower, Hedychium Dr. Moy just blooms and blooms all summer. Wish I could send a whiff of the fabulous perfume.
