thanks, All. I love to play in the garden.

The one Deby got me is from the on site MOBOT gift shop in St Louis. I don't know about their singing, but they do move w/ wind.

lovely rustic look Bonnie... years ago [ decades I guess] there was a section of the Bronx.. that was paticularly devistated..before urban renewal... where they figured out to leave the distruction brought on more of it... lots of lots with their buildings in rubble... on one of the more cleared lots a garden was started with the beds headboards and foot boards were lined up much like yous.. a bed in front and vines on the bed frames... it was such a breath of fresh air to see... it put to use the abandoned lot and made use of the discarded beds... some had the headboard and foot boards seperated by a flower bed... as a mattress inbetween... I love the way gardeners think.. another part of making something arise from nothing... giving beauty and physical and emotional nourishment as a spin off

Thanks Gordon. I love using things that have memories attached too and I love whimsy in the garden. Most of all I love making something out of nothing, or at least nothing that most people find valuable. I have a little youth bed that is from the 50's. This area is continually under construction as every year it gets 'improved'.

Later I put discarded, mismatched floor tiles down for a 'floor' in the bedroom and put the little sign on the headboard that reads Time began in a garden. It could also read Thyme but there are so many ways to make something uniquely yours that the possibilities are endless.

Very clever, Bonnie! You have a knack for finding beauty in the little things.

Gordon, next time we're in NYC, I want to go to the park in the sky.....

Sure Sandi... it is a lovely .. if a bit naturalized growing area now... years ago as it was an elevated rail line... where the refrigerated box cars full of hanging cows.. sheep.. goats...pigs.. and what ever other animals were sent to NYC to be eaten ... the box cars went right into the refrigeated buildings and were unloaded... below workers carried animals on their sholders to trucks and other ground lever distributors... after it was closed decades later the rail lines had already overgrown with plants...nature made itgrow... so it was an easy idea to make it a park...
called the highline
there's a new one in the works called the lowline... a sub surface park... lit from above using a series of solar collectors... with light funneled below by fiber optics to arrays there to light the plants... it will be built in an old abandoned trolley station
