Hi All,
I got my first Plumeria the other day (from Mike) its the grafted Maya--awsome looking plant! I read a lot of the past posts so I can hopefully keep it alive, but I have one question (for right now) ---The graft union is lower on the stem --should it be below the soil leve,l at soil level, doesnt matter? It does seem to be completely healed.
Also, I saw on another thread a dwarf Singapore plant mentioned --Would this be a better pot plant than some of the other tree size ones?
I have Uncarina grandidieri cutting I could trade for a cutting if any one is interested.

Mike, you have a lovely plant there. If you prefer you can bury the graft site but it is not necessary.
A Dwarf Singapore makes an excellent pot plant, but there are now quite a few compact varieties that might also do well for you. Here is a 'Thailand Red' - I have this variety and at 8 years old it is only 5 ft tall and wide.

All of mine are buried below soil level it makes them more sturdy and i have them in 2-3 gal pots. they will do great this way for a year or two. then if you like to sink in the ground go right ahead. Thailand grafters seem to graft lower then some so all of them i cover the graft. if the graft is 4-6 in above roots then i mite leave in site. glad you like and cant wait to see how it growers!
