Do you have tree house? DH built this 19 years ago for our children. Many memories were made by our kids. Seeing the chalk graffiti still on the walls makes me smile. Now abandoned, it stands tall and strong among the trees. A couple times I covered the openings with plastic and used it as a winter greenhouse. But it was tedious for these adult legs to go up and down the ladder to water etc. The bottom area housed a open air sandbox at one time. Now it is a screened in aviary so our parrots can spend the days outside. There is a place for a slide off to the left and the swings shoot off the back side. Now I wait for grandkids to give me a reason to spruce it up.

Thanks, zuzu. Remember I said DH was an Overkiller when it comes to building with wood? Those 4 X 6's are buried 4 feet into the ground! It's going no where! It has hurricane clips on the roof. That is where I go if there is a hurricane. Rolling on the floor laughing

I love the idea of a screened-in aviary at that height. It's so much more logical than the ones at ground level.

Well you can't see by the pic but the aviary is below the house part on the ground level. But you are right, it could be screened in for the birds. That would be a lot of work to make it safe since the wood is treated as it was a ground level. Will send a pic...

Treehouse from the backside. The Aviary, formerly the sandbox deck.

Sweet! And a new view of the entire structure. The hearts hadn't been as visible in the first photo. A lot of work went into that design.

Ooooh, I love this! I've been trying to talk DH into building just a platform in the crook of an oak for our grandson to have a climbing spot. Now I have more ammunition!

Do it! Do it! 19 years ago, our trees were not big enough to make a real tree house in the trees. So we just build it among the trees make it shady, and nice and cozy. I have (bad) memories sleeping over in the Tree House with my then young girls, 4 and 8. My back will never be the same! Rolling on the floor laughing

Well, DH's been gone all day helping our SIL build a loft bed for the DGS. I think I'll let him rest a day or two before I start whining!!! I think sometimes, we want things for our grandchildren that we secretly would have loved in our own childhood.
