thanks Sandi.. I was out doing some night available light shots last night.. you didn't get to see the garden in the dark... this is what it looks like then.. again... the brug is JT's KarolineThumb of 2012-09-03/GordonHawk/5adb4b
Karoline isn't lit directly.. but it has some ambient light from a dicromatic spot near by.. dicromatic spots have two colors of light emiting from it... this one is a red/blue light..[ it also is available as a green/yellow bulb ] if the light hits something directly the shadow made will have a slight outline of the two colors.. it does give an electric glow to flower colors..Thumb of 2012-09-03/GordonHawk/a3fe46

you can see the dicromatic spot in the uper right corner.. i doesn't really read red or blue when looking at the bulb.. I have it shining on the red japanese maple... makes it look like it's on fire... but the camera goes haywire when trying to read the light ... and ends up just blasting too much on the different spectrums... so things are difficult to shoot in it... here you see part of the maple... fire.. and the blasted out light on the honeysuckle in the baclgroung of the American Dream Catcher... which needs a pruning to get the vines back around the frame of it instead of running throughout..Thumb of 2012-09-03/GordonHawk/02cbf8

Amazing pictures Gordon! We're getting very close to frost here. I think I'm going to put everyone to sleep this next weekend. I usually wait til the evening of the frost and run around like a fool, but I decided to do it right this time. I finally got everything repotted 2 weeks ago. They'll be ready to take off in the spring!

Gordon, hope you had time to get some of your plants downstairs today. Looks like you're going to have a dark and stormy night. Take care and keep safe.

Well... thanks Sandi... Sandy is hitting us pretty hard right now... we've lost TV and internet through Time Warner... but version still lets me get on... still have power here.. nearby areas have lost it
It's loud and vibrating here... I got a bunch of little things down yesterday and took some backup cuttings of others... we'll have lost a pile of leaves and flowers/buds through the last wave of weather.. but it wasn't quite time for them to go into the cool room.. but now it doesn't matter.. as everything is shredded..
I did bring a bunch of big trellises and planters down.. one 6' tall trellis was in a 200 lb pot.. it came down on ropes through the hatch.. it had my wonga wonga vine in it..I hadn't seen it bloom yet.. so I wanted to at least see a flower this year... here's a few inside photos.. and one from outside in the early part of the hurricane

Good to know you're safe. What about your car? Is there flooding near you?
