I am pretty sure this is wild ageratum, but would like positive ID. This plant came up last year and then came back again this year. It is in between two drought stricken daylilies, but it is thriving in these conditions. Go figure!

I am guessing that a bird dropped a seed or the wind carried it and I would like to get it to go into other areas, so any suggestions on how to do that would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Could it be Conoclinium coelestinum which is commonly called "Hardy Ageratum"?:

Blue Mistflower (Conoclinium coelestinum)

Vickie: You are very welcome! I'm not certain of the ID but it sure looks like Hardy Ageratum ... lucky you to have such a beauty pop up in your garden!

By the way ... I really enjoyed the article with the tour of your lovely gardens!

And the best part is that it is BLUE! I love blue flowers.

Glad you enjoyed the tour. I didn't do a whole lot of planting or moving of plants this year with the drought. Looking forward to next year and getting a few things transplanted that I only thought about doing this year:)
