I do not think the size of the bulb matters. They are hardy for us cold zones just wanted to give the cold zones a heads up.

I know there is a discussion that there are some that are not hardy. I just wanted people to know these are hardy. Others on GW are growing impressive and they are zone 5.

It seems to vary depending on what website you consult. A couple of places I looked said it was only hardy to Zone 7! Which doesn't sound too hardy to me! I'm going to cross my fingers and plant a few when they get here and try to save a few till spring. At the price, I can afford to experiment! And they're soooooo pretty! Smiling

I know woofie I was skeptical also until I saw so many people posting that they had been growing them as perennials.

Since I have one that is growing as a perennial I am going to put a couple of mine in that spot also and see what happens.

Well, that was one of the reasons I decided to order some to try. Smiling I'm just not too sure when would be the best time to plant them in my area.

I am putting mine in now. That is when I put the ones in that the lady gave me that she said was hardy. I will be out there tomorrow digging.

Our weather is rain, rain, rain, freeze then snow. So all my bulbs even oriental lilies I put a inch of gravel down the bulb on top and then the dirt for drainage.
