Try the Supertunias.
I never grow the old fashioned ones but these are awesome!~
No pinching, bloom all summer-fall and stay bushy.

I wonder whether they would survive our summers? Petunias are a spring and fall flower here usually, more likely to live through the winter than the summer.

PPal - I know they survive Las Cruces, NM summers where from like July 4th through August the average temp is about 110 degs with 10% humidity, so I don't see why not. Smiling And if you have bugs, Dawn dishsoap & a squirt bottle. Smiling

Supertunias are hybrids and might be worth trying.
I've never had much luck with Petunias.
After their first flush and once the weather gets hot they peter out.
Not these Supertunias!
They are still blooming here and did amazing well even in a window box.
If you have a place with some morning sun and shade during the afternoon they might do well for you. Just don't let the soil dry out real bad.

We had a break in the weather...couple of days with highs in the low 50's.
All the snow and ice melted!
I found a couple little violas blooming in a pot by the house.
I was going to take a pic of them but it was soooo cold at PM chore time
after a sudden mid day drop in the temps I didn't get at it.
Will try to snap a pic of them tomorrow.

In the mean times here's some recent pics of my geese....

They are the prettiest (feather wise in the fall - winter months) after they molt late summer and regrow their feathers. I like my roses ~and~ my geese fluffy! Lovey dubby

My cats are featured above Sue.
I also have an all white, blue eyed shorthair neutered male "Larry"
I don't take his picture much because he likes to roll in the dirt and always looks dirty.

I'm not sure what she weighs.
She's good size but not real big.
I do know some of the males get HUGE!
I like them for their dog like personalities.

I am babysitting for my son's cats while he is moving and a couple of them are very large (about 18 lbs) and dog-like. They are short haired and of unknown origin, but I have often wondered if they could be part Maine Coon.
