Photo, and tag. This has a cultivar name on it, 'Little Fiddle' "Bambino".

I wonder if that means they think they have developed a dwarf?

Thinking Probably a standard FLF treated with a growth regulator. Gimmick for sure.
I was in HD today and saw a a citrus labeled Key Lime and in parenthesis it said Limequat. Which one is it?

Yeah there is a great difference between Key Lime and Limequat. These greedy manipulators trying to make a buck by tricking people just kill me

The dwarf is not a new, it's been a while here, in my part of the world.
just a little bit expensive compared to regular, but cheaper to the variegated.
slower grower, and stable dwarf, so no need for growth retardant.
I'm not really fond of FLF... probably because they are common here as "street tree".
I have a dwarf quite long time ago, I guess I still have a small cutting some where... when I found it I will post a pict

I bought one (a regular one) at Lowes last season just out of curiosity because, besides Monstera deliciosa, it has to be about THE most common plant people on here call up and ask for help with. I guess I just wanted to see what it was all about, what the big hubbub was. Its a nice plant, I guess, but I am not totally blown away. Mine did well for several months in the greenhouse so I planted it in the ground. It has tolerated down to 30 degrees so far with just a slight burn on a leaf. I know a real hard freeze to 20F might kill it, if that were to happen I would wrap it in frost cloth and let it take its chances....but I actually agree with you, @tofitropic, I don;t see what all the fuss is about, why this is such a popular, 'trending' plant

I didn't find an entry for 'Bambino' in our database so I've submitted a proposal to add it. I googled and found a couple of referrals about it; apparently it only grows to heights of about 6 feet, with smaller and thicker leaves than the species. I'd be curious to see if it would stay at that height, if planted in the ground here in Florida. Smiling

Here is the last cutting that I still have. Sorry for the bad picture.. as it is almost midnight here..
This grow very slow for me I stuck a cutting in a pot o a tweed anthurium... and it still there... not growing much..
probably it should get it's own pot now, or I might graft it to regular FLF for a quicker growth

Houseplants like FLFs are the newest darlings, Millennials and early Gen Zs love 'em. Reminds me of the '70's, macrame plant hangers are back also. When the moon in in the Seventh House...........

I never used those macrame things, the humidity degrades them here very fast

This illustrates why one person's prized specimen is someone else's weed. In northern climates, we prize Orchids and pay lots of money for them but in many tropical regions, they grow abundantly and largely unnoticed in the wild.

Some folks like the newest and latest everything and others like to go along with an already established trend, whether its clothing, cars or plants. To each his own. If a particular plant makes someone happy, that is all that matters.

Unfortunately, money and marketing often drive retail sales of plants as well as other products. Creative hybrid names are part of the marketing strategy. Caveat emptor!

Ugghh, that air cleaning thing..
I also am amazed at the number of monstera questions. Novelty and impulse are big selling features. 'Trending' because we say so, lol.

when you see a double coconut at Le Depot then you can feel violated.
nothing wrong in my eye if FLF is the 'gateway drug' to get folks interested in green growy things. i was blown away at the young crowd at the Ferrn and Aroid show down here last year.
i have forseen doom for plant groups that dont attract younger mermbers. in our time of instant gratification waiting for a plant to grow is not on the agenda

So i was at our local grocery store yesterday. Guess what they have? Philodendron Birkin (for $18....used to sell and still does other places $75). ZZ Plant Raven...used to go at auction for $150 or more...$22. Monstera adansonii...always cheap and available here, but was commanding top dollar for a while there with the houseplant craze....same ball park. I have to admit, I popped for a Birkin. I just want to see how long it takes to start producing aberrant leaves, and what I might get LOL

I had never heard of or seen that one and had to look it up. Looks pretty cool. I may have to hit Publix and see what they have here.

If u do get ready for weirdness. The majority seem to throw aberrant leaves from way back in the wayback of their genetic heritages
