Joanne, I think Petunias are hardy in 9a. I can vouch for that. Mine always come back and I'm in 9a, and some websites even tell me I'm in 8b.

So should we go with 9A or 8B?

I'd say 9a because I don't believe the websites that tell me I'm in 8b. Smiling

Wouldn't they be considered a short-lived perennial? I've only ever had them live for about 4 years.
We've had subfreezing temps here the last couple of weeks, and some of the silly petunias out front are still alive!

Woofie,

Yes, we have them as a Life Cycle as a perennial and checked "suitable as Annual"

Zuzu, are you ok with the common names of Multiflora Spreading/Trailing, Multiflora Bedding/Pot, Milliflora, Floribunda, Grandiflora and Double?

Oh, that's right. The database doesn't differentiate between "short-lived" and "long-lived" does it?

I'm almost finished entering Floribunda Madness series. Next big series to knock of is Grandiflora Dreams

Dave,
Something just happened to the Search feature for the Petunias. There are no items listed under the Letters (A,B,C ....)

Dave's working on it now, Joanne. In the meantime, you'd find them all under "P" for Petunia.

Here's some terms that are typical to describe petunia characteristics

There are now several hundred Petunia Series (950 varieties) set up in the Petunia Database. If anyone would like to help with the custom petunia data sheets per variety, please let me know. My clicker hand is numb.

There are about a dozen more "series" to enter in. I will have to take a break though. I did get all the new 2013 intros in. Martha Washington look cool. Semi double and from seed. Ball Flora has a very pretty new Suncatcher Vintage Rose and also (no series, individual variety) Lime Light and Blue A Fuse. Ball Seed has new series Pretty Grand and Pretty Flora. Takii introduced Triology (from seed). New almost black from seed in Sophistica and Debonair. So lots of new varieties to choose from this year
