Wouldn't they be considered a short-lived perennial? I've only ever had them live for about 4 years.
We've had subfreezing temps here the last couple of weeks, and some of the silly petunias out front are still alive!

There are now several hundred Petunia Series (950 varieties) set up in the Petunia Database. If anyone would like to help with the custom petunia data sheets per variety, please let me know. My clicker hand is numb.
There are about a dozen more "series" to enter in. I will have to take a break though. I did get all the new 2013 intros in. Martha Washington look cool. Semi double and from seed. Ball Flora has a very pretty new Suncatcher Vintage Rose and also (no series, individual variety) Lime Light and Blue A Fuse. Ball Seed has new series Pretty Grand and Pretty Flora. Takii introduced Triology (from seed). New almost black from seed in Sophistica and Debonair. So lots of new varieties to choose from this year
