Are you asking how and when to collect seed or that you can share how and when to collect seed? I couldn't quite tell from your post.
If you wanted to know, as the bloom dry up and drop off, they leave behind a pod. Once they dry up, they split open at the tip. I just took a cup, hold it under the seed pod and shake the seeds out.

Thread OP

Thanks so much! Sorry I was not clear but you understood me perfectly. I want to collect the seeds. I wasn't sure if the seedlings in my garden were weeds, but decided to take a chance and let them grow. (I had planted a few nicotiana plants 2 years ago and they did not do well) What a great surprise to have these wonderful scented beauties leading up to my front door! I would also like to save seeds from my favorite heirloom tomatoes this year if anyone knows how to do that. So glad I found this site!!
