hollow cuttings what to do?

this time of year we can get cuttings that while in the callousing time they start to become hollow on the end what can we do about it?
if a cutting is cut on the diagonal should you re cut even re callous and then root?

The hollowing can happen at any time, some just do that.
I usually re-cut and re-callous.
Diagonal cuts are not a problem.
