I was under the impression that Cubits was created as an alternative to the DG site when Dave left it. Then when Dave created ATP, I was wondering why Cubits continued.

Just FYI -- Cubits was created as an alternative to DG but with one important distinction -- each Cubit is personally owned and managed by individual people (or persons) -- not Dave. That's why there are so many different topics there, a lot of them have nothing to do with plants, etc. Anyone can start a Cubit of their own about any subject at all that interests them. Dave just manages the *mechanics* of the whole thing, providing the platform and making sure that everything runs smoothly.

Once all the legal issues were over regarding DG, then Dave was able to open up ATP -- which really is an alternative to DG. Dave owns it himself, and it really is all about plants.
