Did you get much of a blow with Isaac? It looks like Tampa and much of the rest of Florida will escape the worst of it. Now I worry about my Gulf coast of Mississippi and Louisiana. These residents are not prepared mentally for another hurricane after the massive destruction of Katrina.

It was largely a non-event here. We had made preparations which we now consider a trial run, and all we lost was internet/tv/phone from about 5 pm last night till around 10 am this morning. All is well here.
I am sorry for the people in the path of the storm. It's almost 7 years to the day that Katrina hit the Gulf Coast....

I have family in Biloxi and they've made reservations for Birmingham, just in case.

It looks more and more like Mississippi will be spared. It seems that every update shows the path more west. Now the center of the cone is even west of New Orleans. Of course hurricanes are moved mainly by high pressure and the high pressure over northern Georgia is what's pushing Isaac west. If that high pressure weakens or moves east, the hurricane will no longer be pushed west.

And the whole coast will be affected by the surge, no doubt, no matter where the eye lands.

Lost my reply... Thanks for the update. We've been out and I've resisted looking at the Weather Channel or Intellicast. If it continues on the westerly course, maybe we'll need those Birmingham reservations!

No the 'Scott Pratt' is still happily growing in its pot, waiting for a nice home.

that is a great plant at great price if i didn't already have a few I would be jumping for sure (well and if i had money lol) i cant believe no one jumped on this yet.

Well, I waited and no one asked for it. I just hated to see it be neglected! I will ask him to mark the box "asst. tools." Then DH won't knowit's another plant.

He sounds like my wife, but the ONLY thing she wants to do in the outdoors, is look at it from an air-conditioned, indoors. Her definition of "roughing it", is staying overnight in an older Holiday Inn. I guess when they say "opposites attract", that fits my wife and I to a tee.
