Blabbermouth me, I mentioned on the Yahoo Adeniums group that a friend's plants had been stolen. Yours, Doris.

A lawyer/part time Adenium nursery owner said---

I think your neighbor could have a qualified nursery horticulturist value the plant inventory if pictures exist of the stolen plants. With the valuation, the police could be informed of a loss, which depending on value, could be a felony under U.S. penal code. Alternatively, if she can locate the plants, the person possessing could be sued for civil theft which would award attorney fees, costs and treble the value of the theft. If they were valuable specimens which she can prove by photos to have been on her premises, either or both processes are available. Regardless, so long as she forces the police to do a report with the incorporated valuation, she can use it on her tax returns as a casualty loss deduction.

I think I'm going to go take individual photos of all my plants---

I've considered branding them in some way, cut my initials in some part of the caudex or something...

There were a lot of thefts of valuable Cycads in California a few years back. Many owners had their plants microchipped (like pets..)
