I wonder if the admins would consider a botany forum? There are some questions that gardeners have that could perhaps only be answered by a short "botany 101" answer, i.e., "your lindera benzoin is not fruiting because this species comes in male-only and female-only individuals. You must purchase several to increase chances of having both genders." Or maybe some botany articles that explain why plants "act" as they do. Just a thought!

I think our "All Things Gardening" forum would be a good place to start on that kind of thing. I agree that some botany articles would be great!

Great! Most avid gardeners who are not botanists know a bit about plant biology and could write about aspects that impact gardening efforts. Since it's autumn, maybe I'll do a little research on leaf/stem senescence and dormancy and write something. Smiling

My newspaper column that I've been writing for the past 8 years started out as a gardening/plant Q&A from readers. It is very successful.

I would be more than happy to answer some questions as I;m sure other experienced gardeners here at ATP would also.

It amazing how much one can learn from researching answers to different questions.

Sounds like a great idea to me.
