Okay, I know this is an edgier, maybe fashion-forward, color range ... so I'm posting it on the weekend, when we let our hair down and sometimes follow the road less traveled. ...Although ... I was surprised to see that there are 7 pages of greens in the ATP daylily datase Blinking What gives? Are there really some green daylilies out there in your gardens? Have you ever seen one with your own eyes (can't photoshop that! lol) and did it catch your imagination or just furrow your brow?

I'm intrigued and interested, to say the least ... so if you have a cultivar to share, with first-person reactions to it, I'd really love to see and hear about it! Group hug

I have a seedling that is nearly that green on some days. On other days, it's more yellow but still has that tint of green in it. Do I call it really green. Well, if on the witness stand, I've say it has a green tint over yellow. I also have some that have a green throat and they are always that green. But, with this said, I've never seen a nodding nodding nodding daylily like this smiling icon. Big Grin

LOL!! I would love to see a nodding daylily nodding like that!

So, even if we all take the solemn oath and say "yellow, but sorta green tinted" ... well, I'd be glad to start there. I have a feeling this will be a very challenging question ... but maybe we'll luck out and find someone who's seen something at a show ... or knows the parent plants of a somewhat-greenie that might throw more of the same?

Only all green I've ever seen, and that in photos, was Wigged Out. Which does not appeal to me. Hilarious!

I do like this one:
Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Emerald Starburst')

Woot!! Emerald Starburst and Green Flash ... they look so cool, fresh and nice! Don't tell anyone else, but I definitely see a green daylily in my future ...

I've also been searching for a green daylily, but the only ones I've found that have a greenish cast usually have a large green throat that extends down the petals and they're usually either yellow or cream colored.

SPIDER MIRACLE is yellow, but sometimes in the shade it looks quite green

LIMONERO SQUEEZE - This yellow daylily absolutely glows in the shade for me. Once again not green, but it can get quite a greenish cast sometimes.

SKIN-WALKER - This one looks iridescent to me -- hints of pink, yellow and green

LITTLE SNOWFLAKE - A very late bloomer -- YEA!!!

UNFOLDING DREAMS - One of these blooms is definitely greener looking, especially from a distance

Maybe I'll start a thread to show big green throats, which I understand the hybridizers covet. I love those!

There are some beautiful greens here and It made me realize I don't have one I could call a green. Only green throats. May have to get at least one. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing
