Here in Bradenton Home Depot and Lowes have some very nice adeniums from time to time. I picked up a white one a few months ago in a 1 gallon pot. It had a nearly perfect round ball of a caudex about the size of a cue ball. I went to repot it today and it had a nice caudex hiding under the soil but to my chagrin Confused it had previously been in a smaller plastic pot that the bottom was still attached to the bottom of the caudex with the roots grown through. They just had knocked the sides off the old pot and repotted the whole thing in the gallon pot and of course the roots had to be cut to get the plastic off so what was suppose to be an easy repot turned into an ordeal...

I know its blooming but it was in a plastic pot and was dropping leaves. The roots got cinnamon treatment and tape wrap.

another repot today

Wow how amazing is that caudex!! You scored! And whites are not easy to find.
Do you wait for a while before trimming the small rootlets that are above the soil?

Yes, was tickled with the caudex! On the little feeder roots, I'm experimenting a bit on different techniques to see what I can get. I have a red I left the feeders on and they got fat and green..and look kind of cool..

What are they potted in? It looks like Turface, or is that a top dressing?
