Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2012 (Part 1)

By NEILMUIR1
September 9, 2012

Cardinal Wolsey started Hampton Court Palace in 1514, but when he fell out of favour it fell into the hands of King Henry VIII. It has had many changes by successive monarchs, but no member of the Royal Family has lived there since the 18th century. It is now a Historic Royal Palace and receives no government funding for its upkeep at all. Aside from the flower show, the Palace's own gardens are superb and the Tudor garden is a must.

Hello Neil.
I'm glad I clicked on the icon, but thought it was just another little idea 'someone' had shared!! And it did not take me long to get transformed into a paradise! What a place and what lovely photos. Kudos to you for taking us there on an e-tour. I want to share these images to my few garden-loving friends outside ATP or DG. Is there a way? I ask this because I assume that they cannot view the full set through ATP as they are not members, even if I give the URL link.

I look forward to Part 2. Do nudge me on T-mail if you can, please, lest I miss. Even Mysore has a Flower Show but it is surely an apology. It's a different scenario here and I do not visit the shows. But the ones annually held in Bangalore is said to be very good.

As expected, everything there, as in England, very orderly. Very well maintained and presented. I simply loved all the 79 images.

Best wishes.
Dinu

ATP is a public forum, so if you copy the URL and send to your friends, they can look to their hearts' content. Smiling
