Hampton Court Palace Flower Show 2012 (Part 3)

By NEILMUIR1
September 11, 2012

The Floral Marquee at Hampton Court is vast and very crowded. There are plants on display that have already been judged for medals, as well as plants for sale from the nurseries. The whole showground set in such an astonishing place is a spectacle not to be missed by anyone.

Dear Marilyn, you would be the only one drinking a non alcoholic drink if they did lemon squash there which I doubt! More like Pimms or Gin & Tonic!

I drank tea in the pubs all throughout an Irish Pub Tour about 20 some years ago.

They were gracious about it and I saw some lovely tea china. Whistling

Had a bit of Bailey's with coffee in England. nodding nodding

Don't have a head for the strong stuff. I either giggle or cry.

What is lemon squash? That sound positive yummy.

Well Neil, you did it again. What a treat to travel through this tour.
I particularly love the Sedum suaveolens, what a wonderful sedum. I had not seen that one before.
I loved all the photos, but my favorites were the succulents and alpine plant. They intrigue me.

Thank you so much Neil for all your hard work, if I ever get to England I would love to go have a lemon squash with you. You can have the pint, I also don't do well with the strong stuff. Rolling on the floor laughing

Dear Lynn, I knew you would like the succulents and Alpines! A lot of people liked them in part 1, yet seemed to miss Part 2 for some reason, maybe they don't like Topiary!
Oh well at least I got them all finished and you had a look at them all. Thanks for that. 6000 + words and nearly 300 pictures, plus a lot of walking.

Neil.
p.s. I try to get as many varied as I can of things, as then they are linked to relevant forums. I will take you up on the offer for a pint. Rolling on the floor laughing

Dear Zuzu, I doubt that they would enlarge them unless it is something they are interested in. Mind you for all the hard work it seems not many people even look at it.
Never mind it gets other forums noticed, and some people are happy. 6000+ words and nearly 300 photos in three Articles is a lot to look at, anyway.
Regards.
Neil.

Another stunning and beautiful walk with you Neil - thank you so much!

I loved the lilies most I think but this is like the 3rd time in as many days that I've seen gloriosa's and now I wonder if maybe I should try growing them Green Grin!

I love the way you opened with the bright and colorful lupins and ended with the quiet and beautiful swans. Lovey dubby

It's always a treat to view all your photo's Neil and I hope you know how much we appreciate them.

Thank You! Hurray! Thumbs up

Dear Vicki, I was waiting for someone to say something about the swans in a negative way and nobody has yet! Gardens are about nature and wildlife as well, or at least I believe they should be. Strangely enough before I could get the picture of the swans I had to go to the aid of a lady tourist who tried to coax one of the cygnets into the bank! Anyone who knows swans will tell you that is not a wise thing to do as the Penn or female can get a little upset with that, as like any mother thinking of danger to their young. Luckily I worked for the wildfowl trust and can handle swans no problem, but I managed to get the lady out of the way, and she luckily got away with it! But was sternly told off by one of the River Wardens, and after a quick lesson from him she came and thanked me. That is why the swans were swimming away from me and not face on!
So glad there were bits for you to enjoy!

Dear Vicki, I wish that lady tourist knew not to go near swans with young as she did not realize how close she got to getting hurt! Surely when the female starts to hoss and comes near you that is a warning to most people, but she would have none of it and still tried to coax the cygnet.

Great job Neil! I hope to someday be there to see one of these shows myself, and of course have a cold one with you!

Hurray! And even more photos you give us here in the thread.
I opened all the photos, best way to see all the details of your wonderful photos.

I some how missed telling you how much I loved the way you ended the article with such a peaceful photo. It truly made me feel like I was observing then ending to a most excellent day. It gave me such a feeling of peace and contentment.

And here you give us more photos in this thread. Hurray!
I am in love with that fire bowl. Lovey dubby
And the garden lanterns are beautiful.
You just keep on giving Neil. Group hug

Dear Lynn, it would not have been peaceful if I had not got that silly lady tourist away from luring a cygnet away from its mother!
Glad you enjoyed it all, and I did not know you liked garden lanterns!
Thank you Lynn for joining me on my trek around Hampton Court!
