Can anyone tell me..... if I save rose seeds to plant, should I remove them from the hips first before packaging them or will that reduce their viability?

I'm so glad. I've never grown the seeds, but I really was planning to look that up for you tonight. Sorry for the delay.

No problem. I just got lucky in my searching. Thumbs up That doesn't always happen as soon as I need it to. Big Grin

Thanks Zuzu!
I'll try to let you know how it goes. We'll probably end up with Duds, but you just never know.

Please do keep us informed. I'm really curious about this. I mean to do it every year, but time flies by, and I haven't done it yet. I've heard that they germinate quickly and start blooming when they're still quite small.

That's what I read too. They also said most aren't worth keeping, but, what if ??? Smiling I'd be keen to grow my own variety of rose, just for fun.

That would be so much fun, and the name "Chelle" doesn't belong to any other rose, so you could name the first one after yourself.

I'd love to create a Zuzu line: Zuzu's Single, Zuzu's Pompon, Striped Zuzu, etc.

Oh yes! Those certainly would get some attention! Not only because of a catchy name, but I'm sure you'd grow top quality. Smiling
