Dave,

It would be extremely helpful to have the "Series" field available with New Entry and Plant Name Edit

Interesting point Joanne.
These Daybreak Series Gazania have the series name in the cv. name: http://garden.org/plants/searc...

These Sorbet™ series Spathoglottis do not, but are often ASA 'Sorbet™ cv. name'. Ground Orchid (Spathoglottis 'Moonlit Grape')

These Passion™ series Spathoglottis also have the series name baked into the cv. name: http://garden.org/plants/searc...

We sorta got off topic of this thread, I should have started a new one.

I have been entering the Series as part of the name for the calibrachoas & petunias. When I look up any reference for different varieties, it includes the series name. But, for something like The Aloha Calibrachoas, the indvidual varieties have for example Aloha Yellow as the name of the variety and I put the series as "RED FOX Alhoha"

Red Fox is a Trade Name like Proven Winners and is attached to many different plants and different series within

I recently entered Spathoglottis Sorbet 'Citrus Cooler' but didn't know where to add that it was in the Sorbet series so I just entered it as the cultivar name Citrus Cooler: Ground Orchid (Spathoglottis 'Citrus Cooler') I think the trademark series/name should be listed too.

I agree, I think The Series Name should be within the name of the variety. Can you imagine how many "Dark Blue" calibrachoas there are. It would be very difficult to figure out the exact variety if the Series name isn't part of the cultivar name

I like having the series name in the Edit Plant Name area.

We do have and entry in the sempervivum in the plant detail area for series.
