I just got home. I stayed until closing time. Whistling

Silly me, I didn't wait for the reader sign to show the plant sale. *Blush* Didn't realize it until just now. Thumbs down

What a grand time we had. I got to meet Connie in person for the first time. We are now planning a spring trip to Wild Ginger Farm together. Hurray! Hurray!
What a fun person she is to plant shop with. Group hug

Kevin Vaughn was there and was fun and full of information, as usual. What a great friend he is. Group hug
The place was packed. Good thing I got there at opening time. Got to see some of it before the crowds arrived.

Doors just opened, here is part of the Wild Ginger display, they had some amazing alpine plants. There is another complete area for their display that can't be seen in this photo.

Next stop was the Perennial Obsession booth. Was great seeing Cynda and her husband Dave, I haven't seen them since May.
Of course Cynda was there, she had a wonderful booth with tons of great semps in pots and other amazing garden decoration plantings. A bonus of some lovely young trees also.
It was so much fun meeting her GG that helped her in the booth. A budding gardener, in her grandma's foot steps. Lovey dubby

It was great fun Spring.
More to come tomorrow afternoon. I have to finish going through the photos. I took about 100.

Marilyn, that is one container for sale. It was just lovely, the photo doesn't do it justice.
I do wish you could have been there. I would have helped you be good. Whistling

Lemon Curl is a big improvement on Angelina. It does not shatter/break easily like Angelina. Much thicker leaves and stems also.

A few garden art vendors were there.

Nice pictures. That caladium is gorgeous!

I can sure see why the Chamaecyparis lawsoniana. 'Barry's Silver' came home with you. How big does it get?

The ‘Amethyst’ snowberry (S. x doorenbosii ‘Amethyst’) is such a beautiful color pink. Did you get that one too? I wish they had sales like that round here.....

I did not bring the 'Amethyst' home with me. Wish now it did. I do have the native white one, and it is lovely. The pink is stunning and seems to glow.

C. 'Barry's Silver' grows slowly to 6 feet. There was a 4' specimen at the sale that was even more stunning. It seems to become more beautiful with age.

Thanks to Connie, I will be trying caladiums next year. Smiling

I will be look forward to your caladium. I tried once and failed never did again. I thought it might be to cold here.

Connie has great success with the Caladium, and she makes it sound so easy to do. She starts them in the spring indoors, in a bright window. I will let her tell you more.

We would love to have you come down Spring. I have an extra room for overnight if you want to. Smiling

My pink cap had special meaning. I took a photo of it and tree mailed it to Lynn so she would know how to find me. It worked! But Lynn, did you see that gal with the pink hair? Weird!

I didn't take any photos at the sale because Lynn had a much better camera than my point and shoot which doesn't perform that well indoors. But I did take photos of my loot after I got home.

We really had a great time egging each other on to buy more plants! I'll add that Lynn is great fun to shop with too! This is such a fun sale each year. It is definitely not just a sale of run of the mill nursery plants, but a cornucopia of rare and collectible goodies all under one roof. Altogether around 25 vendors.

From Perennial Obsessions, Sempervivum 'Black Prince' and S. 'Affine'.

Thumb of 2012-09-17/pardalinum/d53db0

From Egan Gardens and Perennial Obsessions respectively, Sedum rupestre and S. lineare 'Lemon Curl'.

Thumb of 2012-09-17/pardalinum/a9bf51

Lots and lots of wonderful begonias available. I bought this Begonia grandis:

Thumb of 2012-09-17/pardalinum/7aeb49

From Wild Ginger Farm, Dianthus sp - (?D. anatolicus) and Saxifraga paniculata 'Cockscomb'.

Thumb of 2012-09-17/pardalinum/6a13c3

The saxifraga is succulent-like with its thickened leaves. Notice the "encrusted" leaves. There are little offsets around the outer edge. Oh I just drooled over this one!

Thumb of 2012-09-17/pardalinum/05510d

From Out in the Garden Nursery, Lynn also bought this spectacular Euphorbia polychroma 'Bonfire'.

Thumb of 2012-09-17/pardalinum/70684c

From Highland Heather, Calluna vulgaris 'Fraser's Old Gold':

Thumb of 2012-09-17/pardalinum/2ff645

Edited to add species paniculata to Saxifraga 'Cockscomb'; i. e., Saxifraga paniculata 'Cockscomb'.

Do you have Bonfire, Spring? How long have you had it? Has it done well for you? Do you have a photo of yours?

Wow, Connie that camera takes great photos. Your Begonia grandis is absolutely beautiful with the green and red coloring of the stems.
What is not to love about that saxifraga. Lovey dubby

I have Bonfire some place. I think the poor guy is under the tall sedums. I have had it for about 2 years. Never think much about them until fall and spring.
