This has been in my mom's garden forever. Fat green bulbs that sit almost on the soil surface and multiply generously. The foliage has subtle spots (which you can't see in this pic). I'm in zone 9b. This plant does nicely in the shade, seems to thrive in the heat, appreciates water but isn't demanding about it. I suspect it's South African from its easygoing nature. Seems to take everything in stride.
For scale, that's an 8" fern pot it's in. Doesn't need even that much depth.
Ideas? This is a nice little guy who deserves a name.
