We currently have two database entries as follows:

Staghorn Sumac (Rhus typhina), Staghorn Sumac (Rhus typhina)
Cutleaf Staghorn Sumac (Rhus typhina 'Laciniata'):

Rhus typhina 'Laciniata' is Rhus typhina var. laciniata which has been subsumed, per ITIS, as a synonym of Rhus typhina.

IMO Cutleaf Staghorn Sumac (Rhus typhina 'Laciniata') should be retained as a cultivar given it's very different Cutleaf appearance. This is the same premise utilized to describe naturally variable species such Colocasia esculenta and Alocasia macrorrhizos and their horticultural significance.

Given the above, many of the photographs in the DB entry for Rhus typhina should be moved to Rhus typhina 'Laciniata'.
