Was out in the beautiful fall sunshine the other day and took a few pictures of the hillside.
Some of these plants are giant. Much larger them any of the ones I have bought. I did collect seeds of a few special plants this year and will try to grew a few more to fill in the holes.
I am trying to cut down a can of plants a day, but of course other things keep coming up. They are calling for early cold and snow this year. So I can not hold off that much longer. So many things to get done this time of year.
I can't remember but seems like I plant them up in 6 packs about late March. I left mine in 4 inch pots for most of the summer and planted out late September. They seem to really grow big once out of the pots. I will keep you posted. The last round of growing heuchera was some time ago. I'm excited for these. Last time I just took seeds off all my heuchera that were ready at the time of a one time gathering and mixed them up. So no idea of the pod parent. Also, I believe some of the heuchera hybrids maybe sterile, not sure on that.
I have thought about taking seeds from some of my heuchera to see what I get. I have not tried heuchera yet - it would be fun.
Bob - so far so good. We are only getting into the colder temps. The temps up until now have not been too bad. I too am hoping I don't lose anything this year. I lost a lot of plants last year.
I do have quite a bit ordered in Barb's co ops. I am hoping to get most of them to take. Time will tell.
