After having her about 15 years I was saddened to find and have to announce that "Lillian Kathleen" 1999 (our first) has passed on to that big dirt bed somewhere out there. I had two clumps and both got the rot at the same time, they were in different parts of the garden.
I'm thinking that after the Georges registered "Kathleen Manning" in 2010 and I brought one home that "Lillian Kathleen" went into some kind of depression because she was only a dip and the new Kathleen was one of those new fancy tets. This year after blessing me with seed pods she just could not take the humiliation any longer of everyone gloating over the new Kathleen.
If anyone knows where I might purchase some Lillian Kathleen please contact me.

I'm so sorry to hear of Lillian Kathleen's passing. She was a beauty and and an outstanding daylily.

Ive had LK for about five years now. I would give anything to be able to send it back to you. I was spraying this weekend and found her pot empty. She had just died off. I was distraut and embarassed to mention it. Simple strong always blooming, great color of yellow, I loved it.

Over the years it has always surprised me when I would try to order an older flower, and the hybridyzer would say.." I lost all my so and so". I guess thats why mother nature keeps blessing you with more beauties. Being named for your wife, surely someone will have one for you.


Found some. Sent off an email. Will update when they get back with me.

Oh Fred. That's such sad news. I'll have a moment of silence in her honor. I sure hope you can find another clump! Weird that Pam's clump died too.

I still think Ive found some, people out of town. Leaf watching up north I believe. Thank goodness my Lillians Sweet Thang is still happy. It lives in a pot next to Kathleens pot. Both simple, but to me, perfect flowers.

The last clump of Lillian Kathleen that was dying, I dug up, dipped some of it in some fungicide and left it laying in the sun for four days. I potted three fans and all have growth as of now.
