Better way to eat corn? On the cob, with butter and salt.
Corn is wind pollinated. You might see honey bees buzzing around the tassels, but they don't carry the pollen to the silk, the wind does that. Blank spaces on the cobs happen because each silk needs pollen to make a kernal of corn, and if they don't get it, the kernel isn't there. Using an overhead sprinkler to water corn when the tassels have pollen can result in the pollen being blasted off and washed away. A rainstorm could do the same thing, but we have no control over that.
