What a wonderful piece of art Bill, and thanks for sharing your how-to with us. Hurray! Hurray! My brother made me something similar for Christmas, but it's made of giant pieces of wood. I'm anxious for the snow to melt so I can put it together outside.

I love the rocks, for a sculpture like that I'll let you eat dinner at any time. That is what microwave ovens are for, warming up our dinners. Rolling on the floor laughing

thought I would add pictures of some rock balances I made on vacation - these do not survive a tide or even high wind - not sure why the first pic is sideways....

Oh wow! I love the third one, the one that looks like a lady with a giant headdress on and the last one - a little picnic table on top of the world. Love all of them.

I wish we had loose rocks around here. Those surely make a statement.
Excellent!

I wish we had rocks…Period!!! I love rocks! Maybe it has something to do with my childhood years in New England…More precisely Rhode Island… Love it there! Miss it!!! Every time a family member visits an area that has rocks, I always ask that they bring one back for me… And I have been richly rewarded! Rocks from Maine to Tennessee!!!! Love them!

Me too, Tara, about everybody bringing me rocks. I grew up in the Appalachians and thought everybody had rocks. Boy was I ever disappointed when I moved to the flatlands of W KY. No rocks.

I like them too Bill, I agree with Sharon, that third one is unique. I like the last one as well, looks like someone with a big hat or toting something on their head.

Rockies are full of rocks, but I have to buy the ones I put into my landscape. Whistling
The free ones on the roads are always on busy highways and it could be the death of me to run into traffic and pick them up. Thumbs down

Thanks for sharing your creations with us. Love them!!!

Rocks are certainly plentiful in the Pacific Northwest, and I love them. I have various rocks from different trips displayed on my mantle. Here's one my husband and I ran into last weekend on a hiking trip up in the mountains....watch out for falling rock, indeed. This apparently fell from the over-saturated steep hillside directly to the right of my car. Yikes.

Difficult to get a great picture because of all the rock on the bank - although they did provide the source for the balances - looked better in person as there were several balances and then a couple dozen vertical single tall stones of different sizes balance on tiny impression on the base rocks - had a local who owns an art gallery ask if I would hold a seminar - told her to go to gravityglue.com for an expert of balances - I just play

I make no claim to any of these, but we happened onto them on a hike up in British Columbia a few years back - the entire beach was filled with stacked balanced rocks:

Bill, someday somebody is going to find one still standing and they'll look at it and wonder - a cairn, a tribute to a god, a remnant of a lost time!!

I love them!
