Jo Ann - my white Japanese anenome may very well be Anemone Honorine Jobert. I got a few starts from a friend's backyard about 8 years ago, and it has gone to town. Here is a view of it in another part of the yard without the distraction of the faded dahlia flowers. I am not very good with keeping up with deadheading Whistling

John - is that double pink one very invasive? The white one spreads, but I can normally keep it in check if I yank out 80% of the plants at the end of the blooming season.

The purplish-pink single that I have sends out runners and is much harder to keep it from spreading.

Thay white clump does look like Jobert. I have a nice bunch of blooms on a 2 year old plant. They need to be tied up also.
One anemone variety I will never plant again is Sylvestres. It spreads like mad and I had to use Round-up in order to get rid of it. I killed my Cyclamen in the process plus a few Astilbe pumila but they sprang back.

Dianne the purple and pink double have neither proven to be invasive although the white one which was bought as honore jobert is very invasive. I have thought of digging it out several times but it is so beautiful at this time of year. I just dig up the excess as if they are weeds. I like the little shade of light green that surrounds the yellow center. It was bought many y ears ago from Bluestone.

We are expecting light frost tonight

I will keep an eye on mine.It was a gift from a garden friend.I keep phlox under control with chipping away at the edge of the clump in early spring.

Jo Ann - how neat that your reblooming irises are blooming now. I am supposed to have two rebloomers, but have not seen anything reblooms this year.

Here is Margo Koster in it's third flush of the year.
