Laura, I like your seedling too, very pretty bloom. I have been told many times not to get attached to seedlings that should be composted. There are always a dozen or so that should be composted still kicking around here just because I like them and they make me smile. When (If) I get tired of seeing them, then they can go on the compost pile.
Vickie, I was using a Canon G6. The new one is a Canon G12 and has many more features most of which I hope to have time to figure out this winter. Two things I have figured out that I love are the marco mode, so easy and delivers clear, sharp images without the typical focus problems which come with macro and not as sensitive to a slight movement when you take the image. Wonderful for all the close-ups I take. The second thing is a dial on the top left of the camera body that can be turned. It's called an exposure compensation dial and what it does is adjust the exposure by 1/3 F-stops from -2 to +2. In full sun you would dial down and can loose the bright glare of the sun. The image with the exposure change shows on the screen so you can check colors as you take them. The only thing I didn't like was the hand grip was smaller than the G6. Nerve damage in my right hand makes gripping very difficult, but I'm used to it now.
