Laura, I think that seedling is beautiful too! It it a shame it doesn't have more blooms than that. I would keep it too. I love all your blues:) And I have a couple of dl's that look like your Black Fathom Depths. You just never know what it's going to look like from one day to the next! I have two favorites (besides your seedling of course!): Bluebird Butterfly and Celtic Veins. Gorgeous!

Char, what kind of camera did you get? I sometimes wish mine would go on the fritz so I could get a new one. But I have two so I would have no excuse if I lose one, darn it. I shouldn't complain. They do all I need for them to.

Laura, I like your seedling too, very pretty bloom. I have been told many times not to get attached to seedlings that should be composted. There are always a dozen or so that should be composted still kicking around here just because I like them and they make me smile. When (If) I get tired of seeing them, then they can go on the compost pile.

Vickie, I was using a Canon G6. The new one is a Canon G12 and has many more features most of which I hope to have time to figure out this winter. Two things I have figured out that I love are the marco mode, so easy and delivers clear, sharp images without the typical focus problems which come with macro and not as sensitive to a slight movement when you take the image. Wonderful for all the close-ups I take. The second thing is a dial on the top left of the camera body that can be turned. It's called an exposure compensation dial and what it does is adjust the exposure by 1/3 F-stops from -2 to +2. In full sun you would dial down and can loose the bright glare of the sun. The image with the exposure change shows on the screen so you can check colors as you take them. The only thing I didn't like was the hand grip was smaller than the G6. Nerve damage in my right hand makes gripping very difficult, but I'm used to it now.

Char, sounds like a pretty nice camera. Macro is one feature that I would not do without anymore. Cameras have come a long way and you can get just about every feature you want on a compact or sub-compact for a decent price. I'd like to have an SLR but they just look so doggone big:) Even though I have an Canon S5 IS and it is larger than a lot of cameras, I'm just not sure if I want to lug anything larger than that around.

Really enjoying everyone's pics of 'bluish' daylilies! They may not be blue yet, but they sure are pretty!

Here are a few from my garden this summer:

BEN LEE is an oldie and not really happy where it's growing, but the color is pretty.

Thanks so much everyone for the positive feedback! I love dabbing pollen and seeing what happens! Really nice to hear that someone other than me thinks they're pretty :~). Also love taking pics of the daylilies!

Bluegrass Music seems surprisingly happy here. Even did well this summer when many did poorly. I love Dancing Summerbird! It's such an ethereal color and I love the spatulate form!

I like taking pictures of the daylilies too! The two seem to go hand-in-hand. You just never know when you are going to get a picture of a poly or that unusual coloring that comes with the change in the weather. Of course, there are those disappointing ones that are perfect in almost every way except it has that one blotch on it or one petal just won't unfold. Then while trying to pull it out it cracks! I hate it when that happens Smiling

This is an old thread that got revived. I wonder what happened to this seedling? Love the color!

Farmerbell in this post: http://garden.org/thread/view_.... It was one of her seedlings back in 2012. That is why I wondered what happened to it.

I still grow that seedling. It is such a strange color, just strange enough that I like it.
