I mentioned this in the jam thread, but thought I get it out here on it's own. I have some quince on an old tree. Every year, I wait for the first frost to pick them, and every year something happens such that when I get out to get them, they are gone. Does anyone know if it is absolutely necessary for them to be touched with frost before I use them?
