We will probably have a hard frost in the next month so I'm really enjoying my fall roses. Many have rich color, wonderful form, and open slowly. Here are some blooming today.....

Paul so you are so right. The roses here have had one week of cool weather (days in 70s, nights in 50s) and that is about perfect for rose blossoms. The skies were totally overcast today and more than once i thought I should go in the house to get the camera. The southern skies were purplish--probably Oklahoma was getting a storm--I didn't check the weather channel, but it would have made for some glowing photos. Maybe tomorrow!
Remember that children, marriages, and flower gardens reflect the kind of care they get.

Those are beautiful rose portraits! My roses have been taking a break from blooming, but the recent rain and cool front following it should inspire their fall bloom. I hope they are half as lovely as yours!

Paul - WOW.. those are some absolutely gorgeous blooms! This is the perfect weather for it, isn't it. We were supposed to get our first hard frost on Wednesday, but they've moved it to Saturday I think. Supposed to go down to 28degs.

Paul,

What lovely blooms! Thank you for posting. I, too, worry about impending frost next month, especially after my roses have put out a lot of tender new growth since mid September.

I find your collection of roses inspiring. It reminds me that I need to plant Peace, treat my Perfect Moment well to make up for moving it this summer, and consider a few of the others. Is your Spellbound the Zary 2006 introduction? Does Marilyn Monroe ever get more of an apricot color for you?

Steve......I'm certain that there are many that think Peace is "old hat" but I still find it wonderful. Spellbound is a great rose, lovely form and color but I can't get a picture of it that is accurate. It is a 2006 Zary intro. I have posted many pictures of Marilyn Monroe on the data base. I like it all bloom season but fall color is the prettiest. Check it out on the data base. ......Thanks to all of you for your kind comments.
