I like that Mtssa. too! Saw several of them at the Tropiflora sale today, but as my hand hovered over one, I remembered Jim's beautiful dark red 'Aztec Toni' that is still currently at the top of my 'Wish List' so I am going to wait. The holidays are galloping nearer.

Thanks y'all!
In the excitement of yesterdays' postings this one got left out
C. labiata v rubra 'Schuller' x C. labiata v rubra 'Ching Hua'
several of the flowers have been damaged by slugs...but I am happy as can be! Last year this plant
had 1 spike with 2 flowers and this year 3 with 8! And from my sunroom this morning....
Better name Jim! I am annoyed since I seem to have an awful lot of tagless plants this year and I wasn't even enjoying being under the influence! Grrrrrrrr.
You hit a home run with the C. labiata cross, Lindsey.
I was just out in the OC and discovered some new blooms. Cattleya Summer Spot 'Carmela', a gift from our friend Janice, is back in bloom. I really like it.
Brassavola David Sander has put out a single bloom that is a bit twisted. What is up with that?
Finally, my big Lc George Baldwin X C. Trithena is in full bloom, yet again. What a great orchid!

Thanks, it came from Kawamoto Orchids. They sell on Ebay and have 100% rating
which is kind of amazing since they have sold a bazillion plants. The auctions close
on Sunday and I have my plants Wednesday afternoon. Since Eastern NC appears
to be an orchid show free zone.... If I want something other than a Lowe's Phal. they
are who I go to. And speaking of Phals....I finally got around to looking at my neglected
collection and threw out 7 or 8, mostly NOID's that were unhappy after the hot NC summer.
Lc Mini Purple 'Blue' is one tough plant! I bought it almost 20 years ago at a local nursery. It did well for me and then one year it almost died - except for a small piece which started to grow again. I see three new growths with buds right now. Nicely scented.
My Dendrobium batanense got again the signal! It usually starts a flush of pretty, fragrant blooms after a significant downpour. Must have been the change from outside to a nice warm rainwater shower inside the greenhouse.
Cattleya Chocolate Drop 'Kodama' - the first spike of this blooming season is almost open.

Yes, the Gongora looks like a Roman legionnaire with a gold helmet and aristocratic profile in your picture. Amazing, and the color on the Ascda. is beautiful.
Nice Leopard, Jim, not overly floofy but enough to be elegantly dressed up.

That is a cute little bloom peeking out of the foliage. Very nice, Tarev.
I forgot to mention that at the orchid show/sale last weekend, I came across the Brassavola nodosa 'Big Jim'. The grower wanted $100 for an average size plant and the speciman plant was $2,500. I passed them both up. Elaine, you are a rich lady.

Wow, I had no idea! My kids bought me that one as a birthday gift. I sure hope they didn't pay that much for it! My frugal Scots heritage dictates I should not have expensive orchids until I really know how to take care of them in my mainly uncontrolled environment.
Maybe that's one I'll have to keep inside the pool cage, huh? Be a shame for the squirrels to decide to snack on it.
A hundred bucks for this? Whoo boy! Jmho, no plant is worth $2500. Wish you'd taken a picture of that specimen, though!
