Looking for Magic: Basil

By Sharon

Aunt Bett always said, "Look for the magic that hides in plants, look real close and you'll find it." Most of the time we don't have to look very far; most of the time we can find magic in our own herb gardens.

Sharon--I've so been enjoying your articles on herbs. I spend a lot of my time growing herbs for my own use, as well as for our Master Gardener's demonstration beds and plant sale. My love of cooking is what got me started growing herbs, and it's just expanded from there.

Basil, rosemary, mint, cilantro and thyme are my "must have" fresh herbs. I grow them under grow lights in the winter since we can't overwinter most herbs here.

Thank you for your wonderful articles.

Linda

Thank you, Linda, for reading them. So good to know that you love herbs too.

There are more yet to come!
I keep mine growing year round too, most of them. Fortunately they aren't too demanding.
Thanks!
