First blooms on two of my Maryott 2012 introductions opened today, and I really love them both.

SECRET AGENT - Really love this one! It's a big flower, and the ground color is butterscotch with a beautiful red-purple eye and double edge -- very striking, and prettier in person than my pictures show. And I can only imagine what a deep dark purple the eye would be in other parts of the country where it's not so hot (it was 100 again yesterday).

EVER SO SOFTLY - This is a smaller flower in a light coral color, with good substance and form - love it also!

And both together:

It's hard for me to imagine 100 degrees in October, but your climate continues
to give you gorgeous blooms. Love your new Maryott daylilies, especially
Secret Agent. Also Filipina Bride and Monday Morning Blues. It does look
very blue.

Dot it's hard to imagine 100 degree temps when I work up this morning and the temp was 49 and we'll feel lucky if the temp gets up to 70 today. But the foliage is turning quickly and it's very beautiful here this year. There is nothing like fall in New England Lovey dubby Love your MONDAY MORNING BLUES! Thumbs up

No daylilies blooming but I do get to see these colors Smiling

The background color of MONDAY MORNING BLUES is actually a little deeper apricot, but those pictures really captured the eye color so I didn't want to try and deepen the background color. The eye really looks blue-violet to me, and that daylily has tall stalks too.

Karin, that's a fantastic picture of your fall foliage -- absolutely gorgeous!

And guys, just remember that I don't get nearly the edges and brilliant colors that the rest of you do because of our heat, so I can't wait to see someone else's picture of SECRET AGENT. I bet it'll be an absolute knockout compared to mine! To give you an idea, just look at how pastel my PARROT JUNGLE bloom is.

Betty, you still have so many gorgeous blooms. Love the eye on Monday Morning Blues.

Karin, your fall colors are so brilliant and colorful. Nothing like that here yet. We are beginning to see leaves turning colors just a very little bit. Frost is expected Sunday night so we may start seeing more color after that.

Maryotts has some very nice introductions. I especially like your shot of the two together. I had two of his open this year. One was Texas Heat Wave and the other Filipinia Bride. Unfortunately both had rust problems and I had to pitch THW when it got so bad it was spreading to my other daylilies. Hoping that our winter will kill the leftover rust on Filipina Bride. You've taken a good picture of it.....Maryl

Condilla is a classic!

I have one trying to bloom. Blinking Shrug! Been open for two days so far. When Fortunes Smile - it's a consistent bud builder. Made the prettiest babies with Pee Wee's Big Adventure.

And, old Penny's Worth is still plugging along.

That's it for me for daylilies!

Wonderful to see blooms this late in the season. I also like blue eyes. This morning we awoke to a light frost and temps will not get above 50. Doesn't look any warmer for the rest of the week either. Definitely a week to plant spring bulbs Smiling

We had the earliest frost on record here last night. After a miserable drought stricken summer with temperatures well over 100, it just starts to get nice and Whamo. So these will probably be my last blooms. I'm hoping that the other buds on the scape even have time to open. A gorgeous velvety Mary's Baby by Norris:

Thanks Julia and Betty! It has been a very gray day, cold and drizzling rain (well, not that cold). I was very surprised to see this bright gold flower, it made my day. But not only this flower opened, Grandma's Smile was half opened when I took this picture and now it is pouring rain but I went out anyway with an umbrella and tried to take the picture of the flower, at this late time I do not know if it will bloom again or not, right? hehe, I am trying to share as much sunshine as I can. I do still have stuff blooming but not many Daylilies, I have Hibiscus that is still blooming. Blinking These babies are all charged up after a very hot summer! Glad to be getting some fall weather. Oh, I think I forgot to show you 'Bella Sera', enjoy!

Juli
Juli, I cannot find 'Fortunes Smile', thanks for the advice. I almost bought 'PWBA' but I did not meet the min.purchase and could not find any thing else I liked. Please let me know about the bud builders because I only have three. 'Ruffles in Lavender', 'North Wind Dancer' and 'Firestorm'. I am trying to get 'Point of View' also. I left it off my order from 'Daylilies by the Pond.'

Susan, check out this thread, where we talked about bud builders.....
The thread "Bud builders" in Daylilies forum

I think I typed the name wrong. It is 'When Fortune Smiles'
I did a google search and one of the places that came up is Daylily Lane... I have known these people for years, and feel safe recommending them. They are also members here at ATP and also DG.

http://www.daylilylane.com/Pri...

I had given mine to a friend. I missed it so much that last fall when he was digging/dividing, I asked for a piece back.
