Rolling on the floor laughing Mary Ann, Didn't we just talk about Paul Black being a Tom Johnson iris in the other thread? You gave me a good laugh, It's good for me, and yes remember I sent you an iris called Paul Black.

Oh -- well that one slipped past me (the talk about Paul Black being a Tom Johnson Iris in the other thread) (probably because Paul (not Black) was the one who delivered the one-liner) -- but I knew that Tom (you, not Johnson) sent me Paul Black (the Iris, not the hybridizer) -- but I didn't remember Tom Johnson as being the hybridizer, even though Paul (not Black) identified him as such..................

I think I'm getting a headache.................. Confused

Thanks for another good laugh you guys, Nice way to start my day. Now about 2 more cups of coffee and a bagel, and I can brave the 22 degree weather and go feed my horses.

I added Daring Deception, Flamingo Frenzy, and Strawberry Shake, all 2012, Also Private Eye 2010 and Ink Patterns 2007. Strawberry Shake was a huge rhizome which never prospered. It just sat there and never put up any nice green foliage but slowly browned. The rhizome remained firm. I took hold of it yesterday and the leaves pulled off and there was the smell of soft rot. There was a small pocket of rot where the leaves joined the rhizome. I scraped it out with a grape fruit spoon and dusted with Ajax. I think it will make it but I won't see bloom for a couple of years. The up side is there are 7 small increase showing. In medians I added I'm On Fire, Keeno, Orange Smash, Hobbit, Fidget, Calligrapher, Capiche, and Stunt Double.

You got some nice ones there Paul, some of the same ones that I have. I think you mean Strawberry Freeze, as Strawberry Shake is one of Keppel's. Too many strawberries to keep track of, lol. I can't wait to see Private Eye, The pictures I've seen of it have been really nice, Kent kept teasing me with them, and I couldn't resist.

I did mix the "Strawberries" up Confused My Private Eye is two medium-small rhizomes which I got at our UIS sale. I'm not certain they are large enough to bloom next year so I might have to wait to see bloom a couple of years but they should form a nice clump. I planted them in an area which had been fallow for several years so they may prosper.....new soil.
