I was doing a search for Victoire de la Marne but it would not come up in the search. Am I using the wrong term?

Try looking in the Heartland Peony Society's peony gallery. www.peonies.org

Looks like Gilbert Wild has it. I don't know if I'd buy it there of not.. But you can see what it looks like..

Hidden Spring Farms had it but they are sold out.. They also didn't have it's correct picture either.

I was just looking for some additional photos/info here on ATP since the google pics all seem to show variations of what the bloom will actually look like.
Thanks for the info. I already have had a good experience with Wild so no problem there.

I have had good experiences with Gilbert H. Wild with their peonies too. I bought 15 from them last year, and they all looked fine. Some bigger, some smaller, but good enough quality for the price.

Did any of the ones you got from them bloom the next year? Which ones have you gotten from them?

Julia - I ordered a collection from them last year that had 12 - Peony Connoisseurs Collection for $125 - that included Coral Charm, Brand's magnificent, Dad, gay paree, Coral Sunset, Joker, Red charm, Music Man, Mary E. Nichols, and a few others. I chose a collection so that I did not have to make individual choices since there were so many that I wanted Hilarious!

My only critieria was no more pinks, but they ran out of George Peyton and sent me Guidon instead, which is a pink. I already had Coral charm and Red charm, but certainly did not mind another one of each. I put them in the ground in Nov. 2011, and red charm and one other one - garden peace - did bloom. Since this was their first year, I really did not expect any blooms. Will be keeping close tabs on them this coming 2013 season.

Dianne : Of the ones you listed, Coral Sunset is one I've also ordered on the second order along with Victorie and Festiva Maxima. I got Raspberry Sundae and Duchesse de Nemours which I already planted. I've had a pink here for many years but can't recall the name. When it blooms, it has big double blooms and very fragrant.
Hopefully next year, I can add some of the ones they say don't need staking.

I hope you both have a good experience with GW and everything you order is true to name. Smiling

Keeping my fingers crossed that they will bloom this year so that I can tell. I live in the peony twilight zone - just barely enough winter chill for consistent blooms so I am half hoping for a cold winter.

Ticker - Have you had bad luck with mislabeled peonies in your past dealings with GW?

I've gotten a couple from them that weren't true to name. I sincerly doubt that they did it on purpopse. But the thing with peonies is that sometimes it takes a few years to get a bloom and by then it's a bit late to be going back to the grower, ya know?

Definitely understand that. It happens with many online sellers with different plants. Until the plant blooms you have no way of knowing for sure. Fingers crossed they make it through winter and someday, I see a bloom Rolling my eyes.
