Over the years I've had people ask me about these, how do i tell if I'm buying a true Adenium socotranum .look at the leaves on it.Belive me I've paid the price for the phony ones. Now I have two true ones.

Isn't it also the very upright slender growth that classifies it as a socotranum?

I forgot to add the side shot of mine, yes they are slender, the point I wanted to make on them is the leaves, which are more rounded on the ends also darker leaf color.I have more of them coming in before long .

This is another of ones not mine which show them at six years of age in which they have started their long growth turning into long slender growth pattern.

Ha, I saw a photo of one that was nine years old, about three feet tall, and had its' first bloom. Like a broomstick with one little pink flower at the top.

Socotranums are THE most amazing Adeniums, but they must have to be 50+ years old to be anything like those on the island of Socotra where they come from.

I have an abomination, a grafted bit of real Soco that Warunee had, I guess she got some branches from a real 'tree' and grafted them onto a rootstock of.... maybe arabicum.

Yes, the leaves are sort of blunt and very thick and leathery, totally different.

I MUST get a new camera. Life is less without photos...
