We might as well add a list for the Ghio Irises you have added to your collection this year. I have a few. Some I bought, and others were trades from nice people on ATP.

Mystique - Ghio 1975
Well Endowed - Ghio 1978
Novel Idea - Ghio 2006
Pop Idol - Ghio 2008
Bravery - Ghio 2012
Super Hero - Ghio 2012

Tom I went overboard on his plants this year, In my opinion he has the best Whites and Pinks out there and I filled a lot of the holes from the Scorch with Joe's plants and can't wait to see them in the spring. I got mostly older varities but also splurged and picked up a couple of the new intro's here are the favorites.

Wow, that Iconic is sure a nice red. I am trying Pop Idol again, The first time it made the winter bloomed and died, this time it's not looking to hot at all, not sure it will make the winter. I have it in a good place too. We'll see. Love it though.

Remember the difference in climate. All the plants are good, but some will just not like a northern climate.

I did not purchase any of his from him this year. I was going to, got the catalogue, and then when I figured how many other orders I had coming, I was worried about room. But next year for sure. So keep the pics coming.

Joe does have a 'grab bag' a the end of the yr. some of the plants are his & some are other hybridizers. A friend often buys it & a great way to experiment with the climate difference.

I confess to going way over board. I ordered two of his Golden Anniversary X Specials. I got Bravery [he sent 2] Passionate Kisses, Winning Hand, Superhero [he sent 2], Double Platinum, and Pontificate. He sent Beauty Within, Brouhaha, and Magnanimous as bonuses. I also ordered his 2 BB intros. Boy Genius [he sent 2] and Glimpse. I was pleased to get the second Bravery and Superhero as they are growing and increasing well and I we be able to dig a clump of each for our UIS auction next year without disturbing the other clump. I also got Dazzle and Unconditional Love at our UIS auction and ordered Picture Book [they sent 2], Bowled over, and Center Ice from Superstition. I look forward to seeing bloom and sharing pictures next spring. Spectacle is on my absolute want list for next year.

Lucy I hope I have some luck with them this year I know some can be tricky but I have only had problems with a few, most of his do well for me through the winter it's the late frosts that always seem to get me not just with his but any of the early ones, I lost a lot of bloom stalks this year to a late freeze so maybe this spring will be good to us.

Polly you should try him next year he was very genorous with bonus and his bulbs were really nice sized and quality is 2nd to none, I planted most them and within a week they were starting to take.

Paul that is a really nice collection I will be looking forward to your pictures of them, the bus tour we did voted Brouhaha as there favorite it was Outstanding, I'm not sure if you have Plot Line but that's another one of his that I Love that I highly recommend every garden I saw it in this spring it just glowed.

Tom. Iconic was my favorite Red this year lots of ruffles and plants looked strong, a close 2nd was Red Skies very nice flower and quite a few people were using it for crosses, from the seedlings I saw it has a lot of potential to be a good parent, I hope it grows well here. There were 2 other reds that I saw that were talking to me of his they were called Regimen and Infared both older ones but the color was fantastic, I looked for them all over and had no luck finding them so maybe in a year or two someone will have them for sale.

Regimen

Well -- I've been offline for several days. Caught a virus on Monday and had to take my laptop in to be cleaned. Just picked it up a couple hours ago.

So now I can input the Ghio Irises that I added this year:

Rogue
Resonance
Expect Wonders
Red Skies
Accessible
Halloween Trick
Snowed In

Thumbs up

I am nearing the end of that weeding project, Tom. I finished the 8-foot section that I intended to, and am half-way through the next 8-foot section. This section is very hard work -- thick with bermuda, with roots 6-8" below the surface, plus trying to dig through old Iris rhizomes that are embedded in the bermuda. So I'm doing this section in half-hour bites with the intention of getting through the whole thing. This is the final section of the fence closest to the road, so the whole thing will look better next Spring if I get this done. Also, I'll have a place to plant Irises from the other end of the bed when I tackle that next year.

But I had taken the time to make a list of the Irises that you'd sent me, plus some others that were given to me this year. I had the packing lists from the people/companies that I ordered from this year, so I was ready this time when you asked your question! :nodding:

Oh Brad -- I hope that they all bloom, so that there are pictures to share!! I am especially looking forward to *Red Skies*. And I've already started my *new* want list -- with *Pop Idol* at the top. *Plot Line* intrigues me, too.
