I got some seeds from Bill Cramer of that same cross, can't wait to see what mine turn out like. I like that last one the best so far.

Well, even if it's all down to magic seeds, it's impressive. I like that shade of yellow above - what's the parentage?

Magnolialover, those are Montreaux, Chianti and L. davidii seedlings there. Montreaux and Chianti had been two tough, long-lived asiatics in my garden, but I have that garden no longer. It's nice to have babies to remember them by. Smiling

Ah - I thought it looked familiar. I've grown a range of pale to deep apricot to wine contrasts from his seed, but none of the stronger colours. I think all have had that distinctly paler eye. I love the Tas Township series he registered, but don't have any yet....

Pollen Hurray! I've got a couple of weeks before I see buds opening, but happy to store pollen til then, so whenever your flowers are ready. Maybe when I come along to the show committe meeting!?

I'm not surprised, Anthony. Even in the pics you show there is much evidence of stress. I'll bet the color (and other qualities) would really pop in a better environment.

Its not good,.,.with heat, you can water in the evening.,with wind and heat for 2 days, you just sit and watch,.Its bad.burned tips on the orientals that were forming bud,.Medioloides dead, Lake Talure Martagons dead,Pardilinums dead, piliososculum seedlings[absolutely scorched dead] Martagon album.Starburst Sensation twisted around - Im picking up seedling stems that have just fallen off.. Its really bad...Anyway, this is where I recoup and count my blessings for what is left!! I disregarded the evening meal and spent 3hrs watering and tending to my animals and generally cleaning out the ruined stuff....It is so early in the lily season, how could this happen? Shrug!

Terrible losses! Geez... that's wretched news. It was so extreme a change, from a cool spring and generally lingering winter we thought would never disappear! I'm anticipating an extreme summer now.... Though I suffered nervously watching the hot wind beat everything around, my damages amounted to a few fried martagon stems. Now I know I've been fortunate.

The mind races with 'solutions' (like instant wind barriers and shade-cloth roofs). I wonder if we might create some kind of tactical response to future 'disaster' days. I just have a feeling there'll be more >>

Anthony, what types of lilies pulled through best?
