I am new to this site, just kind of checking it out. The closest forum I find for my needs is a Pacific Coast forum which seems to be mainly populated by Californians. Any chance of establishing a Pacific NW forum? I up in northern Washington which is pretty dissimilar to anything in California, except perhaps the very northern part. I'll also post a query in that forum to see if perhaps there are PNWers that are just largely silent at the moment.
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.

Hi, Bonehead. I'm so sorry you're having this problem. The Pacific Coast Gardening forum originally was conceived as a wide-ranging forum for people in California, Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, and perhaps Alaska, Hawaii, and even Japan. Regrettably, only Californians visited the forum regularly, and even they have been silent in recent months.

I think the Northern Gardening forum might be a better fit. I see some Washingtonians there.

Welcome! Bonehead. There are many of us here from the PNW (Washington & Oregon).
I think most of us tend to be found in the forums pertaining to the plants we grow.

If you go to the very bottom of this page (or any page at ATP) you will find the link for the Memberlist. When you get there you can do a search for Washinton and it will bring up 5 pages of members in Washington state. Thumbs up
Same for Oregon, or any other state.
From there you can click on names and on their name and it will take you to their Profile page. There you can click on View posts and it will show you what forums they tend to post in.
Great way to meet people. Hurray!

Welcome! Bonehead! I'm not from the Pacific NW but thought I'd send greetings from my area of the Atlantic Southeast. You will love this site ... wonderful folks from all over the world!

Oh, almost forgot ... when you go to the member list you can type in your zip code and it will give you a list of folks who reside in that particular zip code. I bet you will find quite a few members in your specific area!

I'm not sowing flats of seeds until we get moved now...just getting ready to list the property....and having fun thinking of new landscaping to be played with....digging / potting lots of seedlings, natives and such to take with...and yes, bags and bags of seeds....lol..Thank You again. And trying hard not to acquire more plants at this in-between stage.....a friend was putting together an order from Annie's and I just had to have a couple that I've been wanting that were finally available....lol..

I really do miss the PNW people from DG...dying to hear what's happening with pony...lol..

Well......that's part of the problem......lol.....don't really know yet.
We have to wait ands see if the property sells and for how much .....have thoughts of Crescent City or Brookings, but worried about being too cut off from materials and the large job market / selling potentials down here. Our son still lives at home and has a job here also. In Crescent City / Brookings I could be close enough to my good friend, rebeccanne, for us to get into lots of trouble.....if we stay down here, we will move inland by about 20 miles, both different climate zones and bringing changes and opportunities. Right now I'm just sick of painting, cleaning, packing. Really want to go North because I'm also sick of watering and our high water bills down here....and the heat...and the wildfires....and well, just bored, we've been here for 30 years....want something NEW. We built a house in Washington years ago and I love Washington also....

I agree The western half of both Washington and Oregon are so moderate in climate. I love the Willamette Valley for that reason. Yet we are so close to either the ocean, mountains or high desert. The best of all worlds. Thumbs up

I think gwen had tried to get the PNW people moved over with not a lot of luck...hmmm, maybe that was on cubits....
Yes, I would not want to be in the path of that one. Seems like all this last year it's been one weather disaster after another.

Sherry,
Pony left DG long time ago for Facebook , I think. Many of the gang drifted off to other endeavers. That was such a fun group. We had a few round-ups with lots of fun, food and plants.
Good luck on the move. I hate to move. Yes, Gwen did start something on cubits but she is not on DG either. Don't know what happened. Anyway I like it over here, so this year I'm not going to re-new my DG membership, ends Nov. 8th. I posted that I was leaving and sure hope the few that are left will come over here. This is such a nice bunch.

Oh well...lol..I do miss pony....she was lots of fun. I left DG when IB bought it.....

I usually like a new project, new house to work on, etc....but we'd never stayed in one place this long before and we've accumulated too much stuff and the work seems a lot harder than it did 30 years ago.........the part I hate most is, of course, people coming into my house...wish I could buy something else first and be out of here while it's on the market....
