I think it came from Stush (maybe) and he didn't remember the name. Anyway, it arrived nameless.

Tarev, are you thinking Agave attenuata 'Variegata' (Variegata Fox Tail Agave)?

I think it is more like the Caribbean Agave (A. angustifolia).

Hi Tee...your little plant has some jagged pointy edges, so it does not look like the attenuata...it is more like agave americana variegata..am just looking at the lapshin.org website, they got lots of photos..but the plant is still very young..maybe wait a little more to see what other features it shows on the leaves later on.

Yes, it has pointy leaf margins.

It does look similar to your suggestion, Hetty. But it is very young. I guess I'll just have to be patient and wait awhile.

Thanks, both of you. I tip my hat to you.

My first thought was Agave angustifolia too so I googled for for A. angustifolia variegata and looking through all the photo's (specifically looking for pictures of of small pups) I found one of Stush's photo's. This came up in the google search for Agave angustifolia variegata:

Yeah, it's not labeled/tagged in his photo .... and you can't really trust google, that's just one of the many photo's that came up when I googled A. angustifolia variegata.

Tee,
Just browsing along and saw this. Yes I did send it to you back in Jan. 12. I might have not labeled it but it was in with Cactus monstrose piece and a piece of (Starfish flower) Stapelia Gigantea. Then latter those lily seedlings I got from Florida with a piece of Euphorbia lactea. Sorry I didn't name it. but they are right. It is Agave vivipara (angustifolia) variegate. I use finger nail clippers to cut the very tip off each leaf so as not to get stabbed by them. I no longer have any. I sold them this fall due to the difficulty bring them in every year. They got too large for me. I am happy some one really wanted them and was happy to receive them. I also sold my Agave America (blue agave). They were going on 4 ft. tall and wide.
I hope all the others are growing for you. If not I may have more this spring for replacements.
Same Stush

Thanks! Good to hear from you, CB. I hope you are doing well. For some reason I thought we had discussed this and decided this one was a NOID. Maybe I was thinking of the Crinum lily. I'm glad to have this ID!

Yes, everthing is doing well. The monstrose piece is well rooted, the Crinum looks great, and the E. lactea piece is well rooted too.

This is the Crinum. The leaves were just taken down by a hard frost night before last, but you can see how big they were. I can't wait to see it bloom and find out what the bloom looks like.

Regards,
Tee
