I also have been worrying about Silva....
I am glad you got some blooms on Minerva! No sign of any flowers here. I wasn't sure about my division for you. But looks like it "took."

There is now some serious activity on our street corner right around the downed tree. Hoping!!!! Thumbs up

Kathy, Minerva had a nice live eye right in the center of the division and I watched it all Summer to make sure it would stay healthy. The blooms are very cute.

Thanks Lindsey!

I'm just back from shopping with Laurel in Apopka and the buying shoes are cooling off in the pool. A quick count tells me I bought an even dozen but one is a gift and two are small starts. I will sort it all out tomorrow and give a full report. I did give Laurel a hug for Kathy.as promised. One lady on the Dave's Garden blog joined us from near Jacksonville and I took another one with me from Tampa. It was fun but I am tired. More tomorrow.

Hi all, back again from Adventures in Grandparentland. Our new grand daughter is lovely, Mallory Jane is her name.
Thumb of 2012-11-08/dyzzypyxxy/11ab7e

Between visits and doting over the new family, I did manage to hit a little orchid show at Red Butte Botanical Gardens. One fellow there had three Habenaria medusa plants for sale, but he had sold the last one just minutes before I got there, darnit! Anyway, I did get a few pictures to raise spirits. It was after dark when I got home tonight, but I think I have a couple of new spikes since I left.

Any power yet, Ursula?

Ohh, your new granddaughter is beautiful! Smiling Sweet!
Nice pictures too, Elaine!

Gorgeous, Lindsey!

Jim, sounds like you had fun with Laurel in Apopka!

A couple of the utility poles have been replaced/old ones uprighted next to the new ones) yesterday evening, but the crew had to stop as it got dark and the sleet switched over to snow. ( we got ca 3 inches, my street is a winter wonderland right over the remainder of the mess) I am very optimistic that the job will be finished today and we will have power by afternoon. Keeping fingers crossed, thanks Kathy.

Very cute Little Toshie, Lindsey.... Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing and you expected what from me?

Very cute granddaughter, Elaine. Congratulations! Thanks for the orchid show pics. We did miss you in Apopka.

Ursula, we are all pulling for you. Actually, I think you need a vacation here to Florida.

My Rhynchovola David Sander is looking good with two flowers open and one fat bud.

me too!!
Jim, yours seems to bloom several times a year! That is one happy plant!!

Good news here - I was spending the day with the twins when Klaus called: The street was full of trucks fixing the poles and connecting the power lines. A couple hours later the power was back on. Yipppeeee!!!
So happy!
Internet is still not working reliably, I hope that will improve when Verizon connects all lines which are still laying about. Or my Modem suffered as it was shut off and started up so many times these last days. I just logged on with my Mobile hotspot via Droid.
So happy things are slowly coming back to normal.

All of my mounted Brassavola orchids seem to love it in the OC. I'm seeing lots of new growth.

Great news, Ursula!

It is cold here tonight. I closed the windows in the OC and it is 65 degrees in there right now. The outside temps are expected to fall into the low 50s tonight. Brrrrrrr.

Jim, We're getting the same weather. High of 63 today...tomorrow and Sat nights supposed to be mid 40s. Gotta put the walls back on the shack tomorrow, and hope there are no more heat waves.

I'm doing laundry from my trip, and realized that the dryer vent blows nice warm, humid air right out to the orchid vacation camp.

Hmm! A new cold night strategy! Little tent of frost cloth, and a load or two of laundry drying when I go to bed . . . wish I had some warm air for my tomato plants c/w flowers!

I have new growth on the Brassavolas, too - Little Stars has two spikes and my big noid that was falling of the cork backing has three! I tell you, they like it when I go away.

Absolutely gorgeous weather here so I have been out primping the orchids in the OC. I just couldn't help taking another picture of my new Lc. Netrasiri Doll.

Welcome back to civilization Ursula, I know you are thrilled!
Jim, I'm loving your David Sander....my poor list is getting tattered..I should just start it at the bottom of a page
and add to the top, rather than starting at the top and trying to squeeze the next 'must have' in the top margin!
I came home from a short visit to Virgina and found a bunch of stuff happening in the greenhouse , but only got
one decent picture to share . This is a first time bloomer and two spikes to boot! Blc. Cherry Suisse 'Kauai' HCC/AOS.

Very nice red Blc, Lindsey, and I have one of my own. This is the Queen of Floof, Blc. Chia Lin.
