Love that Cherry Suisse 'Kauai' Lindsay. Good thing you got home in time to see it pop!

Chia Lin sure is a champion floofer, isn't it. I hope one of my sheaths makes it to flowering soon.

I agree
I got a better picture today of the very fragrant C. Chocolate Drop 'Kodama' AM/ AOS..this is a first time flowering on the plant.
It was one of the original plants I bought several years ago, when I decided to get back into orchids.
Thumb of 2012-11-12/sugarcane/20cf56
This plant came from that horrible ebay group formerly known as Royal Orchid Club..don't know what they call
themselves now...but this plant was obviously mis tagged as Blc. Dal's Rapture 'Water Color'...this is also a first time flowering plant.

We couldn't agree more about the Royal Orchid Club, Lindsey. The Vanda I bought from them was on life support from the moment it arrived and it finally died a couple of years later. They must have changed their name by now. C. Chocolate Drop is always a favorite.

That's gonna be a good one, Bree.

Nice spotty, Bree!

Lindsey, the 'Water Color' does have nice blooms though! And I always love C Chocolate Drop 'Kodama'. Mine is opening some more spikes too, but not as nice as the first one of the season. I love the scent too.

My little Sophronitis cernua is opening some buds, this one is a true miniature and I am growing it for many years. Full sun in Fair Lawn.

Great color on that one, Lindsey. Very nice.

My Epicattleya (Epc.) Lime Sherbert X Bc. Little Stars has opened the first spike of several. It will be something when they are all open. I'm becoming quite fond of Epicatts.

Golden Bug is really elegant, Ursula. Love the colors on Flying Colors, too, Lindsay.

Jim, those pics of your Epicatt should be on a calendar, just elegant.

I've got a few coming along, but it's been a bit of a dry spell for blooms for me. I'm having to buy rescues from the death rack to get any flowers.

I'm waiting for the arrival of a dozen or so Master Gardeners for lunch and a garden tour. I have a nice pork roast cooking in the oven. Wish you were here.

Me too, Jim! If I leave now, will i miss lunch?? What a fabulous host you are. When the MG's come to tour my garden they're lucky if they get lemonade!

I finally have the tiny Monk's orchid blooming. Flower is only about an inch across, but very delicate. Several more buds coming along, too. The tiny Epi. magnoliae in the same bowl has a new bud as well, and a seed pod - will place that plant up on the big oak branch where there are already Resurrection ferns growing, and see if it will seed itself.

Well that little social event is over and I have taken a nap as my reward. I didn't know all of you guys wanted to come but you would have been welcome. Nothing now until another library presentation on Tuesday.

Nice looking Monk's orchid, Elaine.

By the way, the color on that Epicatt I posted is pretty true. It is really a nice lime green.

We were going to take my visiting family boating today, but it was cool and cloudy so we went to Selby instead. Lots of lovelies in bloom in the greenhouse, and outside.
These huge, pretty Spathoglottis had stems over 3ft. tall, and have obviously been blooming for months.

Last, we were fascinated with these mounts hanging in the big banyan tree by the cafe. Circles made of dried vines, wired together then suspended in tiers. Some had Tillandsias, some had small Bromeliads, and of course there were some with small orchids, too. I think I'm going to try to make one.
