Photo updates of my tillandsia this Spring 2014, both plants stayed inside my orchid growcamp outdoors: Tillandsia bulbosa made several offsets, all getting mature slowly, and the other tillandsia has grown significantly bigger:
It is a bit hard to see both of them when just tossed on the rack:
So got this pair of nice hanging glass vases so they are back to being tillandsia on the rocks once more
Both plants grew nicely with the constant cross breeze they get inside the growcamp, so keeping them in their new set-up inside the growcamp.

One of my older tillandsias, is in bloom. Happy to see the bloom, but sad , I will lose it soon..it is the 2nd & last pup and mommy plant bloomed 7 years ago, and has since been gone. Oh well, will just enjoy the show till it lasts. But if it will manage to make a pup before it goes, that would be great!
Beautiful flower, Tarev. I hope she pups. My Spanish moss (another tillandsia) is beginning to bloom. They are dainty little green flowers. People have seen Spanish moss their entire lives and never realized that it blooms.

The reason it's so hard to lose weight when you get up in age is because your body and your fat have become good friends.
I will do my best. The flowers are so tiny. It has been heavily cloudy and off and on rain here all day. Perhaps it will be brighter tomorrow. Without adequate light, the flowers will never show, and may not anyway. I need a macro-lens.

I knew it would. If there was ever an almost "perfect" houseplant, it is the "narrow-leaf" ficus. The pity is that practically no one knows it even exists. The commercial growers have little interest in it since it is such a slow grower. And if the commercial growers don't have it, the big-box stores won't either. What makes it un-inviting for the growers makes it an "inviting" plant for the home.

Blooming tilly is done with its blooms..while another tilly, a set of three, is finally showing some new growth The slow pace of growth of a tillandsia is a test of patience at times:
The original mommy plant is the one in the middle, the two outer ones are its babies, now matured as well
And now new growth showing on one of the babies...life goes on..I guess mommy tilly stays around to help the new growth too:

Thanks Bev & Greg I was looking at my old photos of this plant...been a long time..7 years now with me.
It used to look like this in 2007: the two smaller, gray ones I quickly lost then. Being unsure how to grow a tilly then. Luckily mommy plant endured me all these years. Memory lane! I remember I bought these tillies at walmart.
