There were many of these shrubs (4' to @ 10' in height) growing in the area of the Merritt Island National Wildlife refuge and I forgot to ask someone what they are. I couldn't get any closer to get a close up shot of the leaves because they were growing in a scrub area and we'd already spotted a very large black snake so I didn't want to wander off the path to get more shots. I've searched my plant books and can't quite find a match so I'm hoping someone will recognize this shrub from these pictures:
Thanks both of you! That's it and it's listed in my Florida Native Plant book. One of the common names is Saltbush and it was growing in scrub areas as well as marshlands at the wildlife refuge.
