The fronds overlap, I found a list of cultivars giving descriptions.

Childsii is out ..

I have noticed the twisted effect where the fronds join the midrib, leaving gaps.

'Verona'--dense, 3- or 4-pinnate fronds very hanging (pendent) .. sounds possible? Photos are in short supply!

http://lawnpatiobarn.wordpress...

I found one on a French site called Nephrolepis exaltata 'Burkwoodii' but I can't find it anywhere else. The desctiption translated doesn't quite come out right, but some of it sounds OK! "Fronds erect to the side segments very branched, overlapping form. Houseplant. Port compact, excellent plant for suspension." There is a photo.

Wow! I'm impressed with your searching skills and your expert
advice. I knew I liked ATP for a reason! I'll check out the links
but should I include it in the database and under what name???

Thanks so much,
Louise

As we can't be certain which cultivar it is, you could enter it in Nephrolepis exaltata and put in your description that it could be the cultivar Verona, the description certainly makes it a good possibility.

Wow, that really does look like it! The fronds joining the midrib have the same 'air gaps' next to the rib. I feel 99% certain it is Verona, what sayeth thou?

You did well to find that Tee!

Verona it is then! Thumbs up

We don't have an entry for that, are you able to make one Louise? Someone else can do it if not, let us know.

I clicked on the link and I think I agree with each of you. I even
bookmarked the link. It's really worth checking it out more closely
for many plants. I saw a 3D IMAX presentation a few years ago
on the Galapagos island. In some of the scenes, you felt like you
were going to get wet from the ocean spray.
I'll try my hand at the database entry and call on someone for help
if I'm not successful.

Thanks,
Louise

After I groomed it a bit last night, I decided to leave it in
my kitchen where I could enjoy it more than out in the
garden room. I included the darker and the lighter
pictures because I couldn't decide which one. This
window is behind my chair where I eat meals. I think
one picture has the basket of pine cones that I gathered
the other day - hoping to find some way to display them.

lin and Tee, it's not really in a hanging basket. It's on a
four foot tall metal stand with three 10" glass shelves.
I usually keep the brown glass bowls on it to hold
onions and potatoes but decided the fern fern
should be there for now.
Thanks for liking my beautiful plant. God blesses us in
many small ways - not just from plants but friends as well.

Louise: It looked like the fern was hanging in the window but I do see the stand in your second picture. It's such a pretty photo/scene!

It's a spectacular fern Louise, and you have a very nice display stand for it, perfect!

This fern should be available for sale!

Did you manage to make the new entry?

JR,
I entered some info but I don't know if it has been accepted yet.
I'll check in a day or so to see if I can find it in the database.
I'll have to divide the mother plant into several smaller parts
when I get around to repotting it. I would be happy to send
parts of it for postage to anyone interested.
For the fern I pictures, I had just pulled some pieces from around
the edge 2 or 3 years ago. I had the stand, that it is on now,
beside my grand piano and that's where it lived until this spring.
I was totally surprised at the growth in the garden room since
then. I noticed it when I began to move plants inside for the
winter.

If the entry needs to be corrected Dave or someone else will do it Louise, you will get the hang of it eventually. Dave always checks this forum so he will be on the ball.

I can't get over the tatted lace effect, it's a stunner!

I have the very highest respect and appreciation for both Dave and Trish
and for the venue he has provided on the web for gardeners.
I've enjoyed the fruits of their labors since long ago in Dave's Garden.
I have mailed and received many plants through their efforts.
