It is a nice color-comby.
Sure it's gonna be a long winter? Mine's only gonna be about 4 months. Is that "long" ?

Enjoys or suffers cold winters
The idea of length depends where you live. further south in the US winter should be a blink. Hope we get snow as we need the water in the ground in the spring. We found that out last yr when it didn't happen.

Too long for me, Cailin!! Hilarious! Ours is more like two months -- January and February. November, December and March can be shirt-sleeve months!!

Here from about Nov to March or April, you need some kind of jacket on, anywhere from Heavy to light weight. Last year we had snow in April....go figure. We get plenty of rain, so we do not need the snow. Eastern Oregon has snow and freezing already

We should declare some taboo words like "cold" "freeze" "winter" "snow" ...and the like!

Some of our spring bulbs are "peekin", too. My son has an apple tree that had a dozen or so bloosoms last week! I have quite a few Dutch iris bulbs, but only have limited success with them. Here, they gradually disappear over time. We have one ,all yellow, (don't have a clue as to it's name) that seems to prosper, and increase, while others seem to die out. I think it's climate, and not culture or squirrels, because it gets pretty **** here, with little **** cover for protection. We have the same thing with most tulips, so we treat them as annuals, and plant every year. The cottage type and the species tulips seem to last and increase, but the Darwins don't like it too well, our ****** is just too long and **** with early ******s . ...Arlyn Whistling

LOL!! Tulips here become winter feeding for moles. They don't bother the Daffodils.

Oooops -- I mean ******-feeding. Hilarious!

I have a lot of my dutch iris folliage up and green this spring. Even some of the ones only planted last fall. The ones that where already in the garden from years prior are really showing a lot of folliage.

They are pretty and colorful which was what I wanted in that section of garden. I do think that one pictured is Apollo.
