Your credit card will love you for it. Your spouse, probably not as much.

They had just gotten in a truck of roses. I picked up a Theresa Bugnet, 2 Singin' the Blues, and a Peter Mayle. The Peter Mayle states in HMF is good only to zone 7, but I'm gonna try it. You never ever EVER know! They had a million Sterling Silvers, but I limited myself.

Gah do those Singin' the Blues smell like heaven!!

One of the "Singin' the Blues" had an open blossom, so I took that to work with me today. OMG, I wish you could smell this.. this rose is one of the most scented roses I've ever smelled. I can actually still feel the perfume in my throat!

(excuse the desk)

Only problem is that it makes for a lousy single-cut rose because it is a floribunda.

I always go to Lowe's to 'look around' yet somehow a plant or some plants always manage to hitch ride with me on the way home.

Seriously, that's what I like about Lowe's. Wide assortment, the best selections, native or hybrids, and best of all - very reasonable prices.

Plus a 1 year guarantee that is no-fuss. I *like* that part. Besides, I could have bought a nursery-grown Singin' the Blues for $39.99 that I would have to harden off OR buy the same-exact size Singin' the Blues that's outside, abuse-ready for $10. And I may have a coupon or two.

Hmm.. let's think. LOL!!! Another point is that while I'm oogling the roses & whatnot, DH can be slobbering over the tools (that I won't buy him). So it's a win-win for everyone!

Home Depot's garden center on the other hand - in my opinion is not as good as Lowe's. But time to time, they too have some good stuff. Also, if you're a member of their garden club, you get coupons like every two weeks or so. Last week, one of the coupons were B1G1 Free Rose plant. I had signed-up on 2 of my email accounts, so I got 2 coupons (each coupon is specific to an email account for single use).

They happened to have mature Week's climbing roses in 4 gallon pots. Very vigorous, healthy, plenty of branches and long canes. $29.99 each. So I got 4 of them for the price of 2. I got Sky's the Limit, Aloha, America, and Royal Sunset.

If you sign-up right now online I think you can still avail of the coupon as I believe it was going to expire on the 24th,

Here's a bloom on Sky's the Limit:

I did the same thing, plus I have access to my mom's account, so I can get 3 coupons. Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing Rolling on the floor laughing

But, I prefer HD over Lowes. I just happen to be in Lowes looking for trellises. I love that Sky's the Limit!

Ok, now you're cheating! Rolling my eyes. Problem with them too was they didn't have that much selection. I had to go to 2 stores to get my selections.
